The Upcoming 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport- Designed With Inspiration!

In the 1960s, the original Corvette Grand Sports first hit the race tracks, leaving little impression on car lovers at the time. However, it was re-brought to the stage in 1996 in its final year of the C4-generation Corvette.

This racecar shows 30-hp bump over stock. Furthermore, it has wider wheels and tires, compared to the ZR-1, accompanied by matching bulging fenders. This model also kept the original racecar stripes, which was pretty amazing.

In 2010, Chevrolet presented a brand new Grand Sport. This was initially in the 6th generation Corvette and was very similar to the Z06 in terms of movement and pressure. However, the 7th generation of Corvette, expected its release in 2017, assures that this may be the top Grand Sport racecar of them all.

When it comes to similarities, the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport will take all suspension elements and the wide wheels and tires seen in its previous models. Then, these components shall be mixed with the classic V-8 engine option. If compared to the C6 Grand Sport model in regards to its wide tires and wheels, as well as its sport features, the C7 model does not stand out as much.

The source of power derives from the LT1 6.2-liter V-8 engine also seen in Corvette Stingrays. The exhaust of the car basically purrs when it is driven, adding noise when necessary, resulting in a total of 460 horsepower.

To make things even sweeter, Chevrolet will present both its seven-speed manual transmission and its eight-speed automatic. The Grand Sport will also be purchasable in two main versions: coupe and convertible. Moreover, if are not a fan of the hash stripes, they can be omitted.

Pricewise, this majestic car is pretty interesting. Although the initial price comes around $80,395, the main components of the racecar make it far more special and racetrack-ready- so this may be the reason for that price elevating significantly. Just look at those wheels and tires- they don’t make them like that anymore! You get our point!
